The Michigan Career Placement Association (MCPA) with the support of the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Office of Career and Technical Education is once again offering our annual Work-Based Learning Workshop. This one-day workshop will provide an overview of key information and point to additional resources, which are useful when designing structured, well-organized programs at the workplace for students. Please see the workshop agenda for additional information on topics covered.
This workshop is essential for educators, business and industry, and other partners engaged in work-based learning programs that are targeted toward high school age students. This includes employers, educators, counselors, mentors, work-based learning coordinators, Workforce Development Board Members, Chambers of Commerce, and other persons responsible for youth employment, labor laws, and risk management such as cooperative education coordinators, special education and transition coordinators, placement specialists, and work permit issuing officers.
The workshop will be offered on Monday, October 20, 2014 OR Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will be held at Lansing Community College West Campus, Michigan Technical Education Center (M-TEC), 5708 Cornerstone Drive, Lansing, MI 48917.Registration fee is $100.00.

Cancellation Policy: All notification of cancellations must be received in writing at the Ferris State University office or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than two weeks prior to the event start date to be eligible for refund. Full refunds, minus a 10% processing fee, will be given for cancellations received before the two week deadline. Sorry, refunds cannot be granted for any notification received after this date, however substitutions may be made.
